Director of Social Media Strategy

Everybody At Once (EA1) is a New York and LA-based audience development and social media agency. Our award-winning work, in areas from technology to TV and film, has helped clients including Netflix, Searchlight Pictures, YouTube, Google, and AMC Networks harness the power of their massively influential online audiences. 

EA1 is looking for a Director of Social Media Strategy to lead the team and own client relationships for our entertainment and social platform clients. As a highly organized and strategic leader, you will be a hands-on collaborator and account owner, directly interfacing with stakeholders at all levels. With exceptional communication skills, you possess a deep understanding of social platforms, a passion for internet culture, and success creating and engaging fandoms.

As the Director, you won't just provide high-level direction - you'll actively participate in bringing the creative vision to life for client projects across brand positioning and editorial, content development, creative production, audience listening and insights, community management, and performance reporting. 

Leveraging EA1's audience-first approach, you will spearhead an insights-driven process to ideate innovative strategies and captivating campaigns that resonate with our clients’ audiences. Our clients and internal team will rely on your perspective  regarding emerging social trends and real-time insights to develop recommendations that achieve diverse objectives.

This dual focus allows us to form long-lasting relationships built on trust and consistent delivery of outstanding results. Your ability to nurture client partnerships through strategic counsel and seamless implementation will be paramount.

In this client-facing role, you will report directly to the CEO, taking full ownership of overarching strategy as well as overseeing day-to-day account management, campaign development, and flawless execution across multiple clients. You will contribute to new business pitches and decisions related to client accounts, resources, and budgets. 

Responsibilities: 

  • Own client relationship for multiple entertainment brands overseeing full-life cycle of their projects, from high-level strategic advising to campaign development and execution

  • Lead development of social strategy for entertainment brands across various social platforms; drive ideation sessions to generate engaging concepts and produce compelling editorial and creative content 

  • Oversee audience and performance analysis, with ability to interpret both quantitative and qualitative data to identify actionable insights to align with clients’ marketing and social goals

  • Monitor campaign performance, editorial direction, content quality, and KPIs to continually optimize and iterate strategies 

  • Provide valuable guidance and constructive feedback on editorial content, creative direction, and tactical approach

  • Manage brand integrity across creative, tone and voice; ensure work is in line with clients’ brand guidelines and standards

  • Lead and maintain competitive research, and emerging and complex social trends; draft briefs and communications tailored to clients’ specific needs and industry

  • Oversee social media influencer marketing strategies, including identifying key influencers, ideating collaboration, and executing successful partnerships 

  • Assisting with campaign execution including publishing and community management as needed

  • Respond in real-time for crisis management situations, bringing an all hands on deck approach

  • Contribute to new business by identifying opportunities for growth with existing clients and developing pitches for new prospects

  • Manage an internal team of creatives, community managers, and research analyst

  • Collaborate closely with the project manager to develop and streamline workflows, ensuring that the team effectively meet client expectations

  • Keep EA1’s practices and tactics at the forefront with digital and social innovation

Requirements:

  • 7+ yrs social media brand experience in-house or agency developing brand strategies and leading projects and managing teams for entertainment properties

  • Exceptional portfolio of campaign work and proven creative strategies

  • Deep foundation of social media across all platforms, content formats and audience communities

  • Understanding of performance analytics and ability to derive insights in real-time

  • Exceptional client-facing pitch and presentation skills

  • Strong written and verbal communication skills

  • Strong interpersonal skills, able to deal with diverse personalities internally and externally and move a project forward

  • Experience leading, creating, and publishing content across major social media platforms

  • Experience managing and developing a team 

  • Located within the greater LA area; available for in-person client meetings and events as needed

  • Some domestic travel required
